Returns, Refunds and Cancellations Policy
Last updated 2 October 2026
Amirify is a marketplace. The seller named on the product page is the supplier of the goods and is responsible for them. Amirify operates the platform and the payment process, holds the buyer’s payment until the order is safely delivered, and steps in to resolve disputes fairly. These terms apply to every seller on Amirify.
A1. Your legal rights. Nothing in this policy limits the rights you have under South African law. The main laws that apply are:
(a) The Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA). Section 55 gives you the right to safe, good quality goods that are fit for their purpose. Section 56 gives you a six-month implied warranty: if goods are faulty, unsafe or not of good quality within six months of delivery, you may return them and choose a repair, a replacement or a refund. The seller bears the cost of that remedy. Section 19 gives you the right to delivery on the agreed date or, if none was agreed, within a reasonable time. Section 61 makes the supplier responsible for harm caused by unsafe goods.
(b) The Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA). Section 44 gives you the right to cancel an online purchase of goods, without giving a reason, within seven days of receiving them. You pay the direct cost of returning the goods, and the refund is due within 30 days of your cancellation. Section 42(2) lists the exceptions, for example goods made to your specification or clearly personalised.
(c) The Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA), which governs how your personal information is used. See the Privacy and POPIA notice.
A2. Faulty, damaged or wrong goods.
A2.1 Report the problem to Amirify within 7 days of delivery, with your order number and a photo. Reporting within 7 days lets Amirify freeze the seller’s payout for that order while the problem is sorted out, which is the fastest and safest route for you.
A2.2 You do not lose your rights after 7 days. Under section 56 of the CPA you may return faulty goods up to six months after delivery. Contact the seller’s returns and faulty goods contact shown on the product page, or contact Amirify at info@amirify.co.za and we will help.
A2.3 You choose the remedy: repair, replacement or refund. The seller pays for the return of faulty goods. Where a seller has declared a longer warranty, that longer period applies.
A2.4 The seller must respond within 48 hours and resolve the matter within 5 business days of your report. If the seller does not, Amirify will decide the dispute within 5 business days and, where you are entitled to it, refund you.
A2.5 Refunds are paid back to the payment method you used. If that method cannot receive the refund, the team will arrange a secure alternative with the entitled customer. Refunds are normally within 5 business days of the refund being approved and never later than 30 days from a valid cancellation.
A3. Changing your mind.
A3.1 You may cancel within 7 days of receiving the goods under section 44 of ECTA. Some sellers give a longer period, which is shown on the product page. Please retain the packaging and return the goods with their supplied accessories where reasonably possible. Packaging or inspection requirements do not override a statutory cancellation or faulty-goods right.
A3.2 You pay the direct cost of returning the goods. Amirify or the seller will refund the payment required by applicable law once the returned goods arrive and are checked, and in any event within 30 days of your cancellation.
A3.3 Where a seller has declared that a product is exempt under section 42(2) of ECTA (for example goods made to your specification), the product page says so before you buy.
A4. Orders that do not arrive. A4.1 If your order has not arrived within 6 working days of dispatch, contact Amirify and we will investigate with the courier and the seller. The seller is not paid for an order until delivery is confirmed. If the goods are lost, you will receive a refund or a replacement, at your choice where the goods are available.
A5. How Amirify protects your payment.
A5.1 Amirify does not pay the seller until 7 days after delivery is confirmed. A problem reported within those 7 days stops the payout for that order until it is resolved.
A5.2 If a valid claim arises after the seller has been paid, Amirify refunds you first and then recovers the amount from the seller (see the Complaints and Dispute Resolution process). You are not left waiting for the seller.
A6. Contact. Amirify: info@amirify.co.za. Amir Group (Pty) Ltd, 77 Hendry Road, Unit 5, Morningside, Durban, 4001. You may also complain to the National Consumer Commission or the relevant consumer goods and services ombud.
